Damani Brown, founder and CEO of TIM, had a history of making mistakes in various areas of his life such as finance, personal relationships, goal-setting, debt management, and health habits. However, he made a decision to take control of his life and turn things around. Recognizing that many young adults faced similar struggles, he started helping them improve their resumes, interview skills, and life skills. With the mission of helping others avoid the mistakes he made, Damani and Kavan Allen formed TIM in 2019 and launched the Adulting 101 Conference with no funds and only 4 months of preparation. The conference was a success and provided valuable life skill training to approximately 300 young adults. Today, the Adulting 101 Instagram page has over 3000 followers and continues to positively impact the lives of young adults.
